I know... I know... the title has already been used, but somehow I kept on writing and could not find a better description...
As this Alter Ego evolves (Please Note: there is no such thing as a new day without a new lesson), I realize the power that lies within (OMG: that just sounded like a Star Wars quote...), so my little Padawans: today I attempt (Again Please note: attempt) to talk about L-O-V-E! Lovers love! Passionate love!
It seems logical that when one does not know what something is, one should look for it on the dictionary:
Love: A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH...NOT CLOSE ENOUGH... NOT LOVE!
Love has never been to Jedi Valerie just a feeling, love is everything and everyone. Love is like air, it is omnipresent! I cannot stop loving my parents, my siblings, my friends.. so why is it so hard for us to understand lovers love?
And here comes the demons...
How to recognize lovers-love when one soul has never truly felt it? Many Jedis have gotten what they expect it to be, but it turned out not to be the real-thing, they realized it was just an illusion and illusions A.K.A “relationships” have given us an unexpected wisdom... because relationships are not measured in time, but in lessons learned (Gracias a Dios! hahahaha)
Is a rose ashamed of its thorns? Lately, when someone asks us about our life, we try to refer to it as the history of our lessons learned, each one allowing us to separate from our ego (which only separates us from wisdom) and the power of the DEMONS: fear to get hurt (again), rationalizations, prejudices, every day distractions (from a Hair Salon appointment to finalizing that report the board asked for last month) and the worst of all DENIAL: the act of not seeing what is right before your eyes, because your really don’t want to see!
Feeling love, same as meeting our destiny, only requires us to exist! Sure, the logical left part of the brain will always interfere with the intuitive left part of the brain, pero el amor deberia ser la corazonada mas fuerte. FREE WILL AND DESTINY CAN COEXIST, We do not worry about meeting our soul mate that is a matter of destiny, in this life of the next it will occur, our fear is that after ¨the meeting¨ the free will of both will rule and us humans have learned to make decisions based on the mind and all of its fears and prejudices, when the best choice should be based on L-O-V-E!
And even if I try to keep my Jedi sword ready...sometimes life’s most significant events are upon us before we are aware of them...like Emperador Palapatine evil plans for the Galaxy (hahahaha) and that cute little green fellow: Yoda! ...how could the FORCE not have noticed something of such magnitude when the Empire was a stake! The camouflage is always physiological.
We are starving for Love and the beauty of being surprised; and NEED TO BE SWEPT AWAY and I pray for a power more creative than my fears to prevail, because FEAR always find a way to materialize...aunque solo seamos nojotras (sip...nojotras) tratando de atar cabos sueltos al estilo Sherlock Holmes con nuestras amigas, el resultado siempre ha sido: ELEMENTAL MI QUERIDO WATSON! siempre supimos que era un Patán!

Weird to see how sometimes people pray for their true love...but once they have it they just let it go to waste...cheating, lying, forgetting that love is a daily battle...As a man I realized that you need to keep your love flame always lively, huge and HOT...you don't conquer a woman’s heart during the initial dates...you do it every day for the amount of time you share that love…

La base científica de los efectos del olor en la atracción sexual parece estar en un segmento de ADN llamado "Complejo Mayor Histiocompatible" (MHC), capaz de reconocer un gran número de sustancias extrañas que penetren en el cuerpo. Así, en 1990 el doctor C. Wedekind, de la Universidad de Berna (Suiza) realizaron estudios para comprobar si las diferencias en este segmento de ADN en las sustancias secretadas por las glándulas apocrinas podían determinar la manera de evaluar el olor varonil por parte de las mujeres. Obtuvo los siguientes resultados:
ReplyDelete- Las mujeres tienen un olfato extremadamente fino para distinguir las diferencias genéticas más sutiles en el MHC de los varones. Así, en una prueba con 100 universitarios de ambos sexos, las mujeres después de proteger durante dos semanas su mucosa nasal de cualquier estímulo exterior por medio de un pulverizador fueron capaces justo en los días de su ovulación, cuando se intensifica su olfato, de catalorgar camisetas sudadas por varones como sexys, agradables o de olor intenso. Su apreciación estaba en relación con el perfil del hombre preferido por cada uno, resultando que más del doble de las mujeres prefirieron hombres con un MHC muy distinto al suyo: ello podría interpretarse como una selección instintiva de varones con genoma muy distinto, lo que según las reglas básicas de la genética, produciría una descendencia más sana.
- Por otra parte, las mujeres que tomaban anticonceptivos orales prefirieron olores más cercanos a su ambiente familiar, a sus hermanos y padres, sensación explicada por la necesidad de sentirse protegida al engaño de la píldora que hace creer al cuerpo que hay embarazo, lo que las hace sentir atracción por hombres que normalmente no despertarían ese interés.
- A pesar de todo lo anterior, recientes estudios realizados en la Universidad de Chicago por las doctoras Martha McClintock y Carole Ober publicadas en la revista Nature Genetics mujeres de una comunidad anabaptista estadounidense en la que hay sólo un reducido número de combinaciones de genes MHC (en concreto, sólo 67 combinaciones) unas sentían más atracción por el olor más familiar y parecido al suyo propio siempre que no fuera idéntico, mientras que otras preferían el olor de individuos extranjeros con genoma más diferente.
¿QUE OCURRE CUANDO NOS ENAMORAMOS?
La respuesta del cuerpo es variada incluyendo los efectos siguientes:
• Mejora el humor gracias a la timina producida en el timo.
• Sensación de euforia gracias a la hormona noradrenalina segregada por la médula suprarrenal. Simultáneamente se produce menos cortisol, hormona causante del estrés, en la corteza suprarrenal.
• Se agudizan los sentidos gracias a la acetilcolina.
• Se disminuye la sensación de dolor, a causa de la producción de grandes dosis de endorfinas cerebrales y adrenalina.
• Los hombres son más cariñosos al aumentar en ellos el nivel de la hormona oxitocina (que por cierto, es también la hormona que señala en la mujer embarazada la llegada del parto) así como de los aminoácidos ácido glutámico y feniletilamina, moléculas todas ellas causantes de la sensación de placer.
• Aceleración del pulso cardíaco, al aumentar la glucosa en sangre, lo que produce una aceleración de hasta 30 ciclos por minuto, además de dilatarse las pupilas y de suavizarse la sensación de fatiga.
