I have to confess...although this Alter Ego preaches that a girl’s happiness lies within herself (actually I believe everybody’s happiness is a self-conscious choice) I cant deny it is great to have someone to share your happiness with... now finding that somebody who deserves a piece of you... esa es otra historia, como diría mi abuela!
As you grow older it gets harder and harder to take a Leap of Faith on someone or something. I hope it is because we are wiser and know better what we want... and not because we lack of courage! Courage is not about not being afraid...it is about overcoming fear, so...it sounds logical that recognizing fear is the clue to find the perfect safety net, after all: Do you look before you leap and sometimes you don't leap at all because there's not always someone there to catch you? Are people our safety net in life?
Last night I was having a delicious Hummus and the Babaganoush with one of our visiting Alter Egos and someone who has caught me several times, as I listend, I realized she had taken a Leap of Faith, not only because she had the courage, but because she could handle the rough path ahead.... knowing.... she was not alone, she already had 3 safety nets ready to make her bounce back! Her best friends!
We spend so much time focused on finding a lover soul mate, that we forget to thank for what we already have friend soul mates. I have 3 safety nets in my bag, they always take my call, answer my text, listen for hours, pick me up and remember my birthday, so... today.... I not only thank God, Buda, Jehovah, Mahomet, Shiva, Mother Nature... for them, but for giving me the opportunity to give them that too, because the mere fact having them in my life, makes me better.
We are a little piece of all the people that touch our life, no matter how brief, happy or sad; you would be less if that moment would have never existed!
I love dreamers... to me they are like Super Heroes, when you meet one of them DON¨T let her or him go! That is the characteristic I admire the most in my girlfriends, their dreams make me better... and continuing with the confessions: Most of us (girls) like a brave dreamer, love to be surprised by a man who knows what he wants (and were he wants us) and who’s not afraid to run with us, cause some women aren't meant to be tamed, they need to run free until they find someone just as wild to run with (FYI: to catch a runner is like catching a dreamer and we can only love a dreamer!)
Dreamers take a leap of faith! So take a leap of faith for towards your dreams or her or him, but before him or her...find your safety net and if you already have a true friend KNOW you are already rich, because as Emily Dickinson once wisely said FRIENDS ARE MY ESTATE!
XOXO,
Valerie Rose

Dedicado a mis preciosos Alter Egos!
